The story is about two high school teenagers, Fay Crocker a switchboard operator portrayed by Sierra McCormick and  DJ Everett portrayed by Jake Horowitz in a small town Cayuga, New Mexico in the 1950s. they were investigating a strange sound coming from the radio and the switchboard when all the people at the high school were at the basketball game. Fay hears the noise when it interrupted the sound her friend live radio broadcast of the game. They investigated this strange noise which was descended upon their town the whole night.
