It released its first season on 18th May 2018 on DC Universe and is renewed for a second season due in 2021. The series is based on the DC Comics Superhero Courtney Whitmore created by Geoff Johns and Lee Moder. The series is centered upon high school student Courtney Whitmore portrayed by BrecBassinger, who moved with her mother to their stepfather’s house where she discovers that her stepfather used to be the sidekick “S.T.R.I.P.E.” of the Starman ten years ago, and finds out the Cosmic Staff of Starman, in the basement of her step-father’s house. She becomes the superheroine Stargirl and the leader of the second incarnation of the Justice Society of America (JSA).
