The series is centered upon Mike Baxter, played by Tim Allen, a marketing executive at a sporting goods store chain headquartered in Denver, Colorado. He is married and a father of three daughters, a grandfather of his eldest daughter’s son. His home life is occupied with his wife and daughters and grandson, which was later extended to young men who are married to or are dating his daughters. Susan Sullivan is portraying the character of Bonnie Davidson, mother of Mike’s wife Vanessa Baxter, from the seventh season till the present.
